Astro Nena 1105001 Polished Chrome IP44 Bathroom Wall Light

Add softly diffused illumination to a modern bathroom with the Astro Nena Wall Light 1105001. Astro currently lists compatible G9 LED lamps in 2700K and 3000K colour temperatures, including 2W, 3W and 4.5W options. The selected lamp must remain within the 58mm maximum length.

Choose the Required Light Colour

Because the Nena uses a replaceable lamp, its colour temperature can be selected to suit the bathroom design.

Typical choices include:

• 2700K warm white for softer and more relaxing bathroom lighting
• 3000K warm white for a cleaner contemporary appearance
• High-CRI G9 lamps for more natural colour rendering
• Lower-output lamps for decorative ambient lighting
• Brighter compatible G9 lamps for stronger supplementary illumination

A 2700K lamp can suit traditional and relaxing bathroom interiors, while a 3000K lamp often works well with polished chrome, white ceramics and modern tiles.

Lamp-Dependent Brightness

The Nena does not contain an integrated LED, so its lumen output is determined by the G9 lamp installed.

This gives customers and electricians flexibility to choose an output suited to the room. A lower-lumen lamp may be sufficient where the Nena is used as decorative wall lighting, while a brighter compatible G9 LED may be selected when more ambient light is needed.

The frosted diffuser softens the lamp output, producing a broader glow rather than a narrow directional beam.

Dimmable Bathroom Wall Light

The Astro Nena can be dimmed when fitted with a compatible dimmable G9 lamp and connected to a suitable dimming control.

Dimming can allow brighter illumination for cleaning and everyday bathroom routines or a lower light level for a more relaxed evening atmosphere. Dimming performance is dependent on the selected lamp, so the bulb and dimmer should be checked for compatibility before installation.

IP44 Splash-Resistant Protection

The Astro Nena has an IP44 rating.

IP44 means the fitting is protected against solid objects larger than approximately 1mm and against splashing water from different directions. This makes it suitable for many bathroom wall positions where a standard dry-location IP20 light would not be appropriate.

The Nena is splash resistant rather than fully waterproof. It should not be submerged or exposed to high-pressure water jets.

Suitable for Bathroom Zones 2 and 3

Astro specifies product code 1105001 as suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3.

This allows it to be installed in many positions around bathroom mirrors, vanity units and general wall areas, subject to correct positioning and applicable electrical regulations.

Astro does not list the Nena for bathroom zone 1. A fitting specifically approved for zone 1 should be selected for locations within that area.

Vertical Wall-Mounted Installation

The Astro Nena is designed for vertical wall mounting.

The fitting should be installed in the orientation shown in Astro’s official instructions to maintain the correct diffuser position, appearance and performance. It should not be installed horizontally or used as a ceiling light unless Astro provides specific approval for an alternative mounting orientation.

Suitable Around Bathroom Mirrors

The polished chrome finish and softly diffused glass make the Nena a useful decorative option near a bathroom mirror or vanity area.

One fitting can provide an individual accent, while a matching pair may be installed on either side of a mirror to create a balanced design. The suitability for facial or grooming illumination will depend on the selected lamp output, mounting height, mirror dimensions and other bathroom lighting.

The fitting should always remain within an approved bathroom zone.

Astro does not specify a cut-out hole or recess depth for the Nena because it is a surface-mounted wall fitting.

The electrical connection is concealed behind the mounting section, while the main chrome body and frosted-glass diffuser remain visible in front of the wall.
