Cat. #001541121: STANLEY HOLLOWAY

Scarce typed note on a 7x9-inch folded sheet, boldly signed at the close in blue fountain pen by the autograph-shunning star in 1941. In good condition, with some gentle creasing to the upper and lower edges. Comic English-born character actor Stanley Holloway was nominated for an Academy Award for his portrayal of Eliza Doolitte's father, Alfred, in My Fair Lady (1964). He was elsewhere memorable in classic films like Brief Encounter (1945), The Lavender Hill Mob (1952), The Beggar's Opera (1953), Ten Little Indians (1965), and The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes (1970).
